The founding pair combines the two disciplines this problem most requires: renewable energy software and distributed energy management, futures research and strategic foresight, alongside four decades of financial governance and network.

We recently submitted to an ISED call for proposals, a blockchain solution built on government-verified suppliers. That submission is our proof of alignment with the federal approach to sovereign AI.

It started with a dependence problem.

DAI Compute began with a deep-seated problem Francis Wang kept running into: Canada is structurally dependent on the United States for the infrastructure its AI economy runs on. Even the data centres on Canadian soil, in Ontario and Quebec, are owned by American corporations, so under the U.S. CLOUD Act, U.S. authorities can compel access to the data on those servers. Every time a Canadian firm runs an AI query through that infrastructure, it is running through American jurisdiction.

The response is a credit protocol that lets Canadians finance and own the energy and compute themselves, on Canadian soil, under Canadian law.
